Raeco is proud to be the only supplier of Australian made shelving and new furniture to three new pop up libraries, an initiative from the “City of Melbourne”. Designed by Library Consultant Kevin Hennah, each pop up Library takes on its own distinctive theme. The attention to detail can be seen from the front door to every shelving configuration.
- Little Collins Street – “Express Book Bar”: Encompassing the cool atmosphere of this inner city district, this library oozes charm and sophistication. The main wall features our Hero Book Display Discs which enables quick selection. Shelving bay ends feature 3mm thick black acrylic laser cut lattice. Australian made furniture featuring classic “houndstooth” pattern pays homage to this spaces’ former clothing shop tenants. Change rooms have been converted to individual study nooks – complete with Australian made lap top tables.
- Elizabeth Street – “Feed your Mind”: Located opposite the iconic Queen Victoria Market, this converted Chinese Restaurant features easy to navigate shelving along three walls, with numerous face out display for fast selection. Eye catching food inspired artwork captures the vibe of this thriving “foodies” precinct.
- Federation Square – “For kids”: A bright, fun space that features a flock of Australian birds from the ceiling and on the walls. Shelving bays are used to define an activity zone. Maximum face out display throughout plus on colourful Hero Book Discs in the entrance, makes this pop up library especially attractive for younger visitors.
